Ripple CTO Urges Immediate Upgrade to Latest Rippled Version

Ripple’s Chief Technology Officer, David Schwartz, has recently highlighted a crucial reminder from RippleX for all XRP Ledger node operators. The message contains the call to update rippled to the latest version, which is version 2. 2. 0, to maintain ongoing service operations and avail new improvements.

Rippled 2. 2. 0 Brings Significant Improvements

The newly released version 2.2.0 of Rippled, the server software for the XRP Ledger, introduces a range of performance improvements, several bug fixes, and five new amendments that are now open for voting. Among those changes is the featurePriceOracle amendment that establishes a price oracle in the XRP Ledger. This addition allows the blockchain to connect to data from the real world, like the market rate in the case of a tradesmen application, making it much more efficient for applications on the blockchain.

In addition, the fixEmptyDID amendment establishes specific guidelines controlling that DIDs cannot be empty at the time of generation. If the system needs a DID that turns out to be empty, this shall return an error, ensuring the preservation of the purity of these identifiers. One of the most outstanding changes is fixXChainRewardRounding; it contrasts significantly with the old system since, currently, the reward shares are in fact rounded down a little.

The fixPreviousTxnID amendment adds new fields to track all the ledger entries that did not have such fields before. Furthermore, the fixAMMv1_1 amendment fixes problems with offers in an automated market maker (AMM). RippleX also encourages all the XRPL node runners to upgrade to version 2. 2. 0 promptly. This modification is critical to ripening and maintaining operational efficiency and the XRP Ledger innovation.
