Internet Computer Introduces ckUSDC Sepolia, a USDC Replica in ckERC20 Token Standard

• Users can now obtain Sepolia ETH and USDC from various online faucets and deposit them to mint ckETH and ckUSDC respectively.
• While ckETH is not required to deposit USDC, it is necessary for withdrawing ckUSDC and receiving USDC back.

Internet Computer (ICP) mainnet has launched ckUSDC Sepolia, a USDC replica in the ckERC20 token standard. This development allows users to engage with Sepolia ETH and USDC tokens, marking a significant step in the crypto space.

Internet Computer’s ckETH Not Required for USDC Deposit

The upgraded version of the ckETH minter on the Internet Computer mainnet now features the Sepolia version of the USDC token. Users can obtain Sepolia ETH and USDC from various online faucets and deposit them to mint ckETH and ckUSDC, respectively. It’s crucial to note that while ckETH is not required to deposit USDC, it is necessary for withdrawing ckUSDC and receiving USDC back. A portion of the ckSepoliaETH will be used by the minter canister to cover transfer transactions on the Sepolia testnet.
