Viction, formerly known as TomoChain, has announced it’s hosting a Web3 startup hackathon together with Coin98 Super Wallet to foster next-level potential in the rapidly evolving Web3 and blockchain space. The event, introduced as “Viction Horizon Hackathon,” began on November 2 and will last through January 9.

The event is supported by leading Web3 companies, including BTSE Exchange, DWFLabs, Verichains, Poolz, RockX, BlockPi, Renverse, Covalent and a host of other notable firms.

The Viction Horizon Startup Hackathon embodies the new vision that inspired the rebranding of the layer-1 blockchain from Tomochain to Viction – empowering the vision and potential of businesses, investors, developers, and the general public with our secure and accessible platform.

As part of the event, Viction will offer “Mentorship and Guidance” from experienced industry experts to help guide participants through the ideation, development, and presentation of their startup concept. It will also include both offline and online workshop sections, where the participants are trained on various aspects of entrepreneurship, technology, and startup development.

The first workshop series begins on November 9 in Vietnam and will end on December 2, 2023, according to the announcement.

Viction Horizon takes aim on a set of Category Tracks – Social, Payment, Gaming, Stablecoin, and DeFi – each with an anticipated prize pool for the best three projects.

The “Social” track caters for participants building innovative solutions that enhance social interactions and connectivity within the Web3 ecosystem. This may include decentralised social media platforms, NFT-based social experiences, or collaborative tools for Web3 communities. Viction sums this track as the “space to explore the future of online social interactions.”

The “Payment” track covers projects working on financial transactions and payment systems that have the potential to enhance payment processes in the Web3 landscape. The participants will be provided the opportunity to explore and develop decentralised payment solutions, and novel blockchain-based financial platforms.

The “Gaming” track is designed for gaming enthusiasts and also to challenge developers into exploring immersive possibilities beyond traditional gaming, from NFT-driven in-game assets to decentralised gaming ecosystems, according to the announcement.

Given the importance of stablecoins in both the centralised and decentralised ecosystems, Viction said participants building in the “Stablecoin” track will be provided the resources to explore different stablecoin solutions including, algorithmic stablecoins, and mechanisms to ensure the stability and resilience of digital assets.

The “DeFi” track is dedicated to projects building decentralised solutions that aim to redefine financial services. Participants will have the opportunity and resources to innovate within the DeFi space on key areas, including decentralised lending and borrowing, yield farming, and liquidity provision.

Registration for the Viction Horizon Hackathon is currently ongoing and will close on December 8. All projects interested are required to build on the Viction blockchain to be eligible for the prize.
