In Brief:
- XRPL processed record 2,768 transactions in one ledger while maintaining stable consensus and completing validation within 3.8 seconds without disruption.
- Automated bots circulated one-drop transactions through 20 accounts, producing concentrated activity that tested validators, nodes, and WebSocket connections across XRPL.
- XRPL development also covers zero-knowledge identity, credentials, lending, trading, and protocol fixes designed to strengthen core network functions at scale.
The XRP Ledger processed a record 2,768 transactions within one ledger. It maintained stable consensus and completed validation in 3.8 seconds. According to XRP Ledger Foundation community director Hussein Zangana, known as Vet, this figure represents a new single-ledger transaction record.
Several other ledgers also processed more than 2,000 transactions, creating repeated activity spikes across short intervals. Significantly, XRPL absorbed the concentrated load without disrupting consensus, slowing validation, or moving beyond its typical closing range.
Vet highlighted the result as evidence of the network’s speed and low costs compared with other public blockchain platforms. However, most transfers involved one drop, which represents the smallest divisible XRP unit available on the ledger.
Transactions circulated through a ring of 20 accounts, indicating that regular user payments did not produce the record activity. Vet linked the pattern to automated bots probing network layers while submitting transactions during the same period.

Record Transaction Burst Tests XRPL Infrastructure
Although their motivations remain unclear, the bots provided an unexpected stress test for validators, nodes, and connected infrastructure. XRPL maintained consensus throughout the burst, demonstrating its ability to manage concentrated activity without interrupting normal ledger operations.
Moreover, Vet advised node operators to review message limits for WebSocket transaction subscriptions connected to their nodes. Operators receiving 1008 policy errors may need larger message limits when retrieving heavy transaction batches through those connections.
Meanwhile, XRPL development has expanded into digital identity, credentials, lending tools, decentralized trading, and stronger protocol protections. Vet expects demand for zero-knowledge identity systems to increase as blockchain applications move beyond transferring money and digital assets.
He highlighted Credentials, known as XLS-70, alongside the decentralized identity amendment XLS-40 as components of that broader direction. XRPL also activated fixCleanup3_3_0, an amendment designed to strengthen several important areas of the underlying protocol.
Its fixes cover Single Asset Vaults, Automated Market Makers, Checks, pseudo-accounts, permissioned exchanges, and the proposed lending protocol. Overall, the record demonstrated stable XRPL performance, although automated probing rather than organic payment demand generated most transactions.
