Solana Is Processing More Than the Rest — What Comes Next Could Be Bigger

Solana just processed more transactions than the rest of the industry combined, and the number is hard to ignore.

The network handled 5.2 billion non-vote transactions in August 2026, a new all-time high, up 19% from July’s previous record of 4.2 billion, according to Solana Compass’s writeup of the milestone, citing data compiled by Blockworks.

That figure alone stands out. What makes it bigger is this: Solana’s August total exceeded the combined non-vote transaction count of every other L1 and L2 network put together.

Why “Non-Vote” Is the Number That Matters

Vote transactions are just validators talking to each other to stay in consensus. They inflate raw totals without reflecting real usage.

Strip those out, and what’s left is actual application activity: DeFi swaps, transfers, stablecoin settlements, NFT mints.

That’s the figure that jumped 19% month over month, and it’s the figure that beat every competing chain combined.

The Upgrade Behind the Surge

The SIMD-0286 upgrade activated on July 29, raising the maximum compute units per block from 60 million to 100 million, a 66% increase, without adding any time to block production.

That gave applications more room to process activity inside the same block window.

The effect showed up almost immediately. Solana hit a single-day record of 169.9 million non-vote transactions on August 4, and daily volume kept climbing from there.

The Money Followed the Usage

US spot Solana ETFs pulled in $1.34 billion during August. SOL’s price climbed 46% over the month, its first positive monthly return in ten months.

Weekly fee revenue reached roughly 9,200 SOL by late August, an 80% jump over three months.

Techgaged tracked the early institutional interest behind this setup back in June, when Goldman Sachs began building an SOL ETF position well before this transaction surge took shape.

What the Price Chart Shows

SOL traded at $106.97 as of 14:02 UTC on September 6, 2026, up 3.67% on the week.

The weekly MACD reads 5.61, with the histogram building green after a stretch of red bars.

The weekly Parabolic SAR has flipped below price, a signal that’s historically favored continued strength once it holds for more than a week or two on this timeframe.

What Comes Next

Solana spent the better part of two years fighting a reliability narrative left over from its 2021 and 2022 outages, compounded by association risk from the FTX collapse that had nothing to do with the protocol itself.

Techgaged tracked the ETF-driven accumulation phase that started building well before this network activity caught up to it, back in March’s whale positioning data

A record this decisive, more throughput than every competitor combined, is the kind of number that’s harder to argue with than any price chart alone.
