Stablecoin Activity on Solana Is Accelerating — The Next Phase Could Be Bigger

Solana is trading at $97.31, down 6.2% over the past seven days. While the token has pulled back, a key on-chain metric is moving in the opposite direction: stablecoin activity on the network is accelerating at a notable pace.

Sharp Rise in Active Addresses

According to RWA.xyz’s stablecoin data, daily median active addresses interacting with stablecoins on Solana reached approximately 888,000 in September 2026.

That figure is up 269% from around 333,000 a year earlier. The data was cited by Solana’s official account and reported on September 15.

Growth in stablecoin active addresses is a useful proxy for real network usage. It reflects payments, trading, liquidity provision, and settlement activity rather than purely speculative positioning in the native token.

Price Softens as Usage Climbs

The seven-day chart shows Solana retreating from levels above $104 earlier in the period.

After failing to hold higher ground, price has drifted lower into the current $97 area.

The divergence between softening price action and rising stablecoin activity is worth noting.

Techgaged recently highlighted another measure of Solana’s growing activity, reporting that the network processed 5.2 billion non-vote transactions in August, exceeding the combined total of other Layer-1 and Layer-2 networks.

That transaction growth provides additional context for the rising activity now visible in stablecoins.

Why the Metric Matters

Stablecoins form the backbone of on-chain economic activity. When more addresses interact with them on a given network, it can point to deeper integration of payments, DeFi, and application usage.

Solana’s combination of low fees and high throughput has long positioned it for this type of activity.

The latest data indicates that advantage is translating into measurable growth.

A nearly threefold increase in active addresses over twelve months is significant. It points to a broadening user base and more frequent engagement with dollar-denominated assets on the network.

Techgaged has also previously examined Solana’s rapid growth in users, adding another data point to the network’s expanding adoption story.

Looking Ahead

Solana’s price remains under pressure near $97, yet stablecoin activity is climbing toward new highs.

If the trend in active addresses continues, it could lay the groundwork for a stronger fundamental narrative in the months ahead.

The next phase of growth will depend on whether this rising usage translates into sustained demand for SOL itself.

For now, the data shows a network that is becoming more economically active even as its token consolidates.
