Lighter’s native token, LIT, is gaining traction after Bitwise Europe launched the Bitwise Lighter Staking ETP (BLIT).
The announcement revealed that only European investors can access the new product. They can access the LIT-backed product through Germany’s stock exchange, Xetra.
According to the asset management firm, the product is the world’s first LIT exchange-traded product (ETP). It enables TradFi investors to access LIT without holding the token directly.
Lighter Joins the ETP Bandwagon
The new Bitwise ETP is fully backed by LIT tokens held in cold storage and can be traded through a regular brokerage account. This eliminates the need for crypto wallets.
This newly launched fund joins a list of ETPs that Bitwise manages. Recall, Bitwise debuted an ETP backed by Hyperliquid’s HYPE in April.
Following the announcement, LIT surged 10% in the last 24 hours, trading at $5.16. This highlights the market’s reaction to the new investment product and growing interest surrounding the Lighter ecosystem. At press time, LIT sold for $5.15.
Interestingly, the token’s increase comes when the broader crypto market is experiencing bullish trends. Some crypto enthusiasts say this may be the quickest bull cycle ever seen, while others are still observing. Crypto assets with low activity for several months have now seen price increases.
Lighter Brings Decentralized Perpetual Futures On-Chain
However, the story goes beyond the ETP launch. Lighter is a decentralized perpetual futures exchange built on Ethereum. It is designed to bring derivatives trading on-chain while maintaining verifiability.
Furthermore, the platform operates using a customer zero-knowledge rollup, allowing trades and liquidations to be independently verified on-chain.
Meanwhile, that infrastructure is particularly relevant in the perpetual futures market, where transparency and the ability to verify trade activity are crucial, especially when building trust around decentralized derivatives. Lighter launched its LIT token on December 30, 2025.
While LIT serves as Lighter’s governance and staking token, the digital asset has increasingly become a major part of the broader Lighter ecosystem. As such, Bitwise’s new BLIT product now gives traditional market participants another way to gain exposure.
For Lighter, the ETP launch provides a wide range of visibility to the project and its token. The latest move may also increase investors’ interest and adoption, causing an increase in activity across the Lighter ecosystem.
