Revenue growth follows Ripple acquisition
Ripple Prime, formerly known as Hidden Road, has expanded its institutional operations since Ripple completed its acquisition in April 2025. The prime broker now clears more than $3 trillion in annual trading volume for over 300 institutional clients worldwide. According to Higgins during a recent Token Relations quarterly webinar, the firm’s revenue has more than tripled since joining Ripple. He attributed the increase to stronger engagement from existing customers and a steady flow of new institutional clients.
Moreover, Higgins identified Ripple USD RLUSD, a horizontal clearing infrastructure, and cross-margining across multiple asset classes as the primary drivers of that growth. Together, these services have improved capital efficiency for institutional traders. He explained that cross-margining can reduce a margin requirement from approximately $12.5 million to nearly $1 million in certain trading scenarios. Consequently, institutions can allocate capital more efficiently while maintaining exposure across different markets.
Additionally, Ripple Prime strengthened its infrastructure during the second quarter through integrations with EDX Markets, Coinbase Derivatives, Hyperliquid, and Bullish. The company also secured a $200 million debt facility from Neuberger Berman to support further expansion.
Broader institutional adoption shapes future strategy
Higgins also noted that Ripple Prime is attracting a wider range of institutional participants. Besides crypto-native trading firms, hedge funds, asset managers, pension funds, and endowments are increasingly joining the platform. He linked that trend to improving regulatory clarity under the GENIUS Act and the proposed CLARITY Act.
The company’s near-term strategy includes introducing additional collateral options such as tokenized money market funds while expanding into a Delta One equities business. Those initiatives are designed to broaden institutional access and strengthen the firm’s service offering.
Conclusion
Ripple Prime’s multiple award nominations coincide with a period of rapid business expansion and increasing institutional participation. Its growing client base, broader infrastructure, and strategic product development underscore the company’s efforts to strengthen its position within the global prime brokerage industry.
