Gelato’s RaaS Platform Expands Support For OP Stack As Lisk Migrates To Layer 2

Gelato, Web3’s cloud platform, is elated to announce the expansion plans for its all-in-one Rollup as a Service platform (RaaS) to encompass support for the OP Stack from the Optimism Collective.

According to the announcement, Gelato now serves OP Stack, the Optimism Colective open-source modular development framework. This is in addition to offering support for Polygon CDK. OP Stack powers the Optimism ecosystem and supports the Superchain.  As an open codebase, OP Stack was designed to alleviate the congestion problem of the Ethereum mainnet.

Now, by leveraging  Gelato’s RaaS platform, the OP Stack gains native integrations with Gelato’s industry-leading Web3 middleware services to enable superior UX. These services include off-chain data, automation, and account abstraction.

Notably, this expansion will also enable Lisk, a Layer 1 blockchain, to integrate into the Ethereum ecosystem as a Layer 2. As part of the expansion, Lisk will join OP Mainnet, Base, and other OP Chains, joining Optimism’s vision. Launched in 2016, Lisk provides a fast, cost-effective, scalable network. Over the years, Lisk has served as a Web3 infrastructure democratizing blockchain accessibility for users and developers. The project seeks to bring various solutions to real-world assets (RWA), DePIN on-chain, and off-chain assets (OCA). Reportedly, as a Layer Two chain, Lisk and other Layer Two chains developed with Gelato will have access to a fully production-ready Web3  development environment. This is the first time in the Web3 space that developers have access to an end-to-end service OP Chain. The access comes with all the necessary infrastructure dependencies deployed from the start.

Commenting on the expansion, Luis Schliesske, Founder at Gelato, stated:

“Gelato’s expansion of support to the OP Stack underscores our mission to revolutionize the blockchain arena. By democratizing access to a modular blockspace, we’re empowering a diverse range of creators to deploy their unique, ready-to-launch Layer 2 blockchains. This pivotal move will unlock the full potential of mainstream crypto applications, marking a new era in blockchain adoption.”

Gelato and Optimism share a vision of creating a world with horizontal scaling of Web3 applications created with the help of thousands of interconnected blockchains. In this new collaboration, RaaS will serve as a crucial component to serve users’ underlying blockchains while offering an end-to-end development environment well integrated with essential developer infrastructure services.
