In a significant move poised to shape the landscape of esports in South Korea, the renowned data platform GRID has forged a groundbreaking partnership with the South Korean e-Sports Association (KeSPA).

This collaboration marks the first of its kind, as KeSPA, established in 2000 and backed directly by the South Korean government, joins forces with a data company within the country.

Empowering the Korean esports market

GRID’s partnership with KeSPA signifies a pivotal moment for the Korean esports scene, as it introduces access to official esports data services and ushers in a new era of data-driven decision-making.

This landmark agreement promises to deliver comprehensive insights into various gaming titles, including household names such as League of Legends, VALORANT, PUBG, Dota 2, and CS2.

Fostering sustainable esports growth

The collaboration between GRID and KeSPA underscores a shared commitment to sustainably advancing the Korean esports ecosystem. By leveraging official esports data services, both entities aim to align with South Korea’s overarching vision for the industry’s growth while adhering to regulatory frameworks.

This strategic alliance enhances the professionalization of esports programs and elevates the quality of broadcast entertainment for enthusiasts nationwide.

Moritz Mauer, Founder & CEO at GRID, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing the mutual objective of empowering local stakeholders with robust tools for enhancing esports programs and broadcast experiences.

He emphasized the importance of integrity in handling esports data, reaffirming GRID’s dedication to sourcing information exclusively from official channels.

A series of strategic partnerships

GRID’s collaboration with KeSPA adds to its growing roster of strategic alliances in 2024. In January, the company solidified partnerships with prominent entities such as broadcast company LTN and fantasy esports platform E-GO App.

Furthermore, GRID extended its esports data partnership with leading betting company DATA.BET in February, further cementing its position as a key player in the esports data landscape.
