The Artificial Intelligence (AI) ecosystem has just welcomed a new chatbot with the tendency to compete with popular generative AI models like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Elon Musk’s Grok.

Venice AI Tool Addresses Privacy Challenge

ShapeShit founder and Bitcoin advocate Erik Voorhees took to X to announce the launch of the AI application dubbed Venice. The application, powered by the Large Language Model (LLM) technology, went live earlier today. Per the description offered by Voorhees, Venice is a private, permissionless AI designed for unfettered civilizational advancement.

The AI tool shares certain similarities with ChatGPT, Grok, and even Anthropic’s Claude but does not do “all the Orwellian stuff.” By “Orwellian,” Voorhees appears to be talking about the fact that some of the aforementioned AI tools invade the privacy of their users.

For instance, Google was sued by some of its users who thought the firm hadn’t accessed their data ethically. The AI giant monitored the internet activity of users who believed they were surfing in private. In order to resolve the lawsuit, Google agreed to delete billions of data records.

This situation with Google mirrors Voorhees’ statement about big AI companies monitoring users activities and controlling what is said. He went as far as accusing these companies of sharing users data with third-parties including advertisers, hackers, and even the government.

With the launch of Venice AI, Voorhees claimed that this privacy challenge has been addressed.

“Venice doesn’t spy on you. Venice doesn’t censor your conversation. Venice doesn’t inject bias, safetyism, or political propaganda,” the ShapeShit founder wrote on X.

Venice Offers Users Privacy And Free Speech

He lauded the capabilities of the tool, stating that it offers users direct and unfiltered communication with machine intelligence. Voorhees believes that AI users are safer with the services that Venice would offer, considering that their privacy will be upheld and not jeopardized.

To achieve confidentiality and privacy, Venice AI eliminates the place of an intermediate that could take control from the hands of a user. Beyond the privacy, Venice boasts of allowing users to modify the parameters and boundaries of their conversations. It achieves this by providing them with direct access to the System Prompt.

Voorhees noted that this is a service that none of the centralized providers offer. Generally, Venice is supporting free speech like Musk’s X.
