Ripple President: XRP Is ‘The Main Character’ Now

Ripple Labs has spent a great deal of time building institutional partnerships & acquiring licenses all across the globe. Speaking during a keynote address at this year’s edition of the MERGE São Paulo, Ripple’s President Monica Long doubled down on creating the ultimate “Internet Of Value”.

Monica Long sees Ripple as the main character in serving enterprises & institutions. Building a compliance-first culture right from the ground up, Ripple is very regulated, having beyond 75 licenses to their name. Ripple’s President sees that as a key competitive edge, providing “the whole end-to-end digital asset life-cycle management all under one roof”.

Ripple’s President acknowledges that the compliance-first approach is definitely “the hard way”, but nevertheless “the right way to do it”. Ripple’s “Internet Of Value” vision has been there from day one. When the XRP Ledger saw the light of day approximately 13 years ago, the main idea was to make value move across the web as fast & easy as information does.

The MERGE São Paulo speech from Monica Long surfaces during one of the most socially bearish moments for XRP this year. Blockchain intelligence platform Santiment has reported an extreme level of ‘FUD’ on Reddit, Crypto Twitter (X) & Telegram. That type of bearish sentiment often preludes a bounce back rally as the general trend tends to move against the crowd.

The post has generated over 1k likes and mixed replies, with some users praising Ripple's value proposition while others express skepticism about long-promised price impacts on XRP. At the time of publication, XRP’s price was hovering around $0.99, a steep drop from the $3.65 all-time high the OG altcoin posted a year ago, following Ripple’s landmark legal victory versus the SEC.
