HONK Price Doubles After MEXC Kickstarter Listing

YEREVAN (CoinChapter.com) — HONK, a Solana-based memecoin, rallied 98% on Feb 6, reaching $0.012. The surge was accompanied by a substantial rise in investor interest on social platforms, as the token trended #1 on crypto tracking platform Dextools and #2 on CoinMarketCap.

Notably, HONK’s trading volume also increased by over 110%. Considering the parallel price increase, the trading volume jump testifies to the pumped interest from investors.

According to the latest announcement, crypto exchange MEXC listed HONK in its Kickstarter program.

The MEXC team also gave a detailed overview of the voting process, the possible rewards, and the participation conditions. The voting period will extend from 02:00 UTC on Feb 6 to 01:50 UTC on Feb 7. According to the estimations, the trading will start at 04:00 UTC on Feb 7, and the withdrawals will be activated at 04:00 UTC on Feb 8.

As of Feb 6, main HONK trading takes place on Solana-based exchanges Raydium and Jupiter with nearly 40% and 25%, respectively.

HONK or BONK – Who cares?

As mentioned, HONK is a Solana blockchain memecoin inspired by goose memes from the ‘Untitled Goose ‘video game. The developers launched the token as a competitor to another Solana-based memecoin, BONK, with several social media posts calling the memecoin the “BONK killer.”

A hat-tip to Solana’s fan title as an “Ethereum killer,” it seems.

The Honk team highlighted that memecoins had seen two major trends of animal-themed tokens: the dog fest that includes Shiba Inu and Dogecoin, and the second phase, the frog tokens such as PEPE.
