Chainlink Price Prediction: Can LINK Reach $10 After Breakout?

Chainlink price prediction watchers just got a signal worth paying attention to. $LINK has quietly broken free from the tight accumulation zone it had been boxed into for weeks, and buyers are finally showing their hand.

The question now isn't whether LINK woke up; it's whether this move has the legs to keep running or whether it's setting up for a shakeout before the next leg higher.

A handful of key levels will decide that answer in the hours ahead, and this breakdown maps out exactly what to watch.

Chainlink Price Right Now

Open interest measures the total value of futures contracts still open on Chainlink. At $538.08M, it ranks among the largest of any mid-cap altcoin right now.

This points to heavy leveraged positioning around the current range, a setup examined further in a related LINK price analysis piece.

Chainlink's Official Reserve Continues to Grow

A separate report noted that Chainlink's official LINK reserve, launched roughly a year ago, now holds 5.35M LINK worth close to $44.4M.Chainlink latest news

A reserve this size sitting outside the circulating supply is a data point worth tracking alongside the current breakout, without assuming it directly drives short-term price.

This context sits alongside the setup covered in a recent Chainlink new bullish era update.

Liquidation Data

In the past hour, $639.78 in total leveraged positions were liquidated, with longs taking the larger share at $527.32 versus $112.45 in shorts.Chainlink liquidation data

Over 4 hours, $19.77K was liquidated, mostly shorts at $16.62K against $3.15K in longs.

The 12-hour window shows a heavier short squeeze: $178.68K in short liquidations against just $3.64K in longs, out of $182.32K total.

Over 24 hours, $810.93K was liquidated in total, and shorts again dominated at $692.70K versus $118.23K in longs, a pattern also visible in the LINK breakout holds piece.

Key Takeaways

  • LINK trades near $8.724, up 4.03% in the past 24 hours, after clearing its accumulation zone

  • Clearing and holding $8.920 opens the path to $10.025, then $10.854

  • A pullback to $8.455 is possible before the next leg higher

  • A close below $8.065 invalidates this outlook and shifts focus to $7.884

  • Short positions accounted for most of the past 24 hours' liquidations

Chainlink Price Prediction: What the 4-Hour Chart Shows

$LINK has broken decisively above the accumulation zone it held for roughly two weeks between $8.065 and $8.455.Chainlink trend analysis 4h

Price is now consolidating near $8.72, just under the $8.920 resistance. A confirmed close above $8.920 would open the path toward $10.025 and eventually $10.854.

The breakout shifted short-term structure in favor of buyers, and the current consolidation looks more like a pause than a reversal so far, a read also explored in the Chainlink price target 2026 breakdown.

Clearing $8.920 is the next trigger to watch. This should ideally happen on a candle with volume noticeably above the recent average, since a break on thin volume is more likely to fail and reverse.

A pullback toward $8.455 is still possible before that breakout attempt.

It would not by itself invalidate the setup, as long as that zone holds as support rather than getting sold through.

If the price instead closes below $8.065, the breakout would be considered failed, and $7.884 becomes the next support to watch.

This mirrors the pattern outlined in the LINK consolidation breakout thesis.

What Would Change This Outlook

This prediction holds as long as the price stays above $8.065. A volume-backed close beneath that level would invalidate the bullish case and shift focus to $7.884.

On the upside, a confirmed close above $8.920 is what opens the door to $10.025 and $10.854, with a possible detour through $8.455 along the way.

These levels should be rechecked if the price moves outside this range in the next 24 hours, a scenario also discussed in the LINK rally nobody is expecting .

Glossary

  • Accumulation Zone: A price range where an asset trades sideways while buyers build positions before a breakout.

  • Open Interest: The total value of futures contracts still open on an exchange.

  • Liquidation: The forced closing of a leveraged position once losses exceed available margin.

A longer view on this same structure is covered in Chainlink's August price prediction.
