Binance Lists Hyperliquid With Seed Tag as HYPE Price Pulls Back

  • Binance added Hyperliquid’s HYPE token to its spot market with HYPE/USDT, HYPE/USDC and HYPE/TRY trading pairs.
  • Binance applied its Seed Tag to HYPE, requiring users to complete a risk-awareness quiz before trading the asset.

Binance has officially listed Hyperliquid’s native HYPE token for spot trading, adding the cryptocurrency to one of the world’s largest exchanges as its price moves lower after a strong run over the past week.

Spot trading for HYPE went live on September 24 at 11:00 UTC with three trading pairs: HYPE/USDT, HYPE/USDC and HYPE/TRY, according to Binance’s official announcement. The exchange set the listing fee at zero BNB, while withdrawals are scheduled to open on September 25 at 11:00 UTC. The HYPE/TRY market is limited to users with verified Binance TR accounts.

Binance has also applied its Seed Tag to Hyperliquid. The exchange uses the designation for newer or innovative projects that may carry higher volatility and risk than other listed tokens. Binance said users trading Seed Tag assets on its Spot or Margin platforms must complete a risk-awareness quiz every 90 days and accept the applicable terms before gaining trading access.

The exchange also warned that Hyperliquid is a relatively new token and could experience high price volatility. Spot algo orders were enabled when trading opened, while Binance said Trading Bots and Spot Copy Trading would be enabled within 24 hours of the listing.

HYPE Price Pulls Back as Bitcoin and Crypto Market Retreat

HYPE is trading around $91, down about 4.91% over the past 24 hours, according to CoinMarketCap data. Its 24-hour trading volume is around $1.28 billion, while its market cap stands near $22.84 billion, putting HYPE at No. 10 by market capitalization on CMC.

Binance’s own live price page shows the altcoin trading around $90.33, with a 24-hour high of $95.97 and a low of $90.20. The different readings reflect changes in the market and the timing of the price snapshots.

Hyperliquid was already trading lower before Binance’s spot market opened, with the decline coming as the broader crypto market moved into a pullback. Bitcoin fell below $84,000 during the session after reaching nearly $87,300 earlier, while several major altcoins also posted losses. HYPE among large-cap cryptocurrencies fell roughly 5%–6% during the sell-off, while Ethereum was down more than 2.7% and XRP had fallen more than 6%.

The market weakness comes after Bitcoin’s sharp advance earlier in the week, putting pressure on major cryptocurrencies and altcoins on Thursday.

Despite the daily decline, HYPE has gained 15% over the past week. CMC’s historical data shows the token closed at $85.06 on Sep. 17, before climbing to an intraday high of $97.98 on Sep. 23. The crypto later closed at $93.97 on Sep. 23. The Binance listing gives Hyperliquid another major centralized exchange market after the token’s recent rise.
