LayerZero Tackles Sybil Activity with Self-Report Strategy

LayerZero Labs has announced a new initiative to combat sybil activity, commonly referred to as airdrop farming. 

LayerZero Labs unveiled a self-reporting mechanism that incentivizes users who may have engaged in this fraudulent activity to come forward. Under this program, individuals who admit to sybil activity within a 14-day window will receive 15% of their originally intended token allocation. This announcement was made on May 3 through a post on X, emphasizing LayerZero’s commitment to fair and equitable token distribution.

The protocol identifies May 17 as the deadline for self-reporting, after which it will initiate enforcement actions against non-compliant users. This move follows a snapshot taken on May 1, which determined the eligibility for the forthcoming token airdrop.
