USDC Issuer Circle Successfully Completes SOC 2 Type 2 Audit

  • Type 2 audits provide a more all-encompassing picture of a company’s data regime.
  • Marlys Rodgers of Circle emphasized the importance of a successful SOC 2 Type 2 audit.

A System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type 2 audit has been successfully completed by USDC issuer Circle. An indication of how seriously Circle takes the security of its clients’ data is the fact that it has undergone an audit in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Type 2 audits provide a more all-encompassing picture of a company’s data regime than SOC 2 Type 1 reports, which only look at the architecture of security systems at one point in time.

Firm’s Commitment to Data Security

Chief Information Security Officer Marlys Rodgers of Circle emphasized the importance of a successful SOC 2 Type 2 audit in proving the firm’s commitment to data security best practices. This accomplishment, according to Rodgers, provides stakeholders and consumers with a comprehensive view of Circle’s security protocols and operational efficacy.

The SOC 2 Type 2 evaluation included more than a hundred separate controls that dealt with availability, confidentiality, and security. The positive outcome of this audit validates Circle’s commitment to safe operations and enhances its reputation and trustworthiness in the eyes of both users and regulators.

Circle keeps all of its customers’ personal and financial information safe by adhering to all of these quality standards. Achieving operational honesty and openness is a key strategic goal for Circle, and the favorable audit result lends credence to that goal.

Circle has chosen France as its MiCA regulatory and operational headquarters, thus in addition to its security gains, it is expanding its regulatory and operational foothold in the EU.
