<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>Dogecoin is a token that resides on its own blockchain, which happens to be PoW merged-mined (since 2014) with Litecoin. Doge chain is a child chain of Litecoin. Technically, this means that Doge knows who it&#39;s Daddy is, but Litecoin has no knowledge of li&#39;l Doge. </p> <p>Litecoin&#39;s mission back in 2011 was to implement an ASIC-resistant, memory-hard PoW algorithm. However, it turns out this algorithm was not so memory-hard or ASIC-resistant. In 2022 we have Litecoin/Doge ASICs! </p> <p>For a number of years Doge mining was worth ~5% of Litecoin... a probabalistic rounding error. I don&#39;t think this has happened previously in AuxPoW. </p> <p>Shiba is an ERC-20 token that resides on Ethereum. An instameme! (no PoW). This token is subject to Ethereum&#39;s block space market (fees), and an arbitrary consensus switch to PoS soon (tm). Both outside of its control. Shiba and Doge are on different planets.. no.. different universes or dimensions even!</p> <p>However, here on planet earth, Shiba and Doge are somehow comparative. Measured up against each other.
