As India is at the forefront of its Digital Adoption, Meta has launched many products in India foremost and has grown immensely through its digital transformation. Amidst several high-profile departures and lay-offs at Meta are WhatsApp India head Abhijit Bose and Meta India’s Public Policy head Rajiv Aggarwal, who stepped down to join Snapchat.

Since, Meta has appointed a new head, Sandhya Devnathan for its India business operations. Meta claimed that Sandhya would majorly focus on creating revenue as a priority to serve its clients and partners. 

During her role, she will directly report to the Vice President at Meta Asia-Pacific. Moreover, there is a huge hierarchy shift in the firm where Indians Executives have to report to the U.S leadership. She will report for her appointments and leadership roles on January 1 next year. Sandhya is also expected to lead the India Meta org and strategy team. 

The appointment took place when Ajit Mohan, the former head of Meta India resigned to join the rival platform ‘Snap’ as its president of the younger firm’s Asia-Pacific business dealings. Moreover, at the same time, WhatsApp’s all-India head Abhijit Bose and Meta’s India public policy director Rajiv Aggarwal also resigned. 

Meta stated in a statement,

As part of her role, Devanathan will spearhead the company’s India charter and strengthen the strategic relationships with the country’s leading brands, creators, advertisers, and partners to drive Meta’s revenue growth in key channels in India.
