Polkadot's Hyperbridge gateway on Ethereum was exploited today. The attacker faked cross-chain verification proofs to gain minting control over wrapped DOT, created 1 billion tokens out of thin air and cashed out ~$237K. $DOT is down over 4%. The Polkadot blockchain itself was not compromised.
