What to Know

  • Cardano’s 1,085% liquidation imbalance eliminated $1.89 million in leveraged long positions as ADA approached $0.20 support during broader market weakness.
  • Inflation data strengthened interest-rate concerns, adding pressure to Cardano while traders assessed the Federal Reserve’s policy outlook and broader economic risks.
  • Cardano advanced Dijkstra preparations through Node 11.2 integration, alongside Hydra, Plu-ts, and Leios developments supporting wider network improvements and testing.

Cardano (ADA) recorded a 1,085% liquidation imbalance as selling eliminated $1.89 million in leveraged long positions. According to CoinGlass data, total ADA liquidations reached $2.06 million, while short positions accounted for only $174,080.

ADA traded around $0.20, representing a 1.64% decline as sellers maintained control across the market. Consequently, traders expecting a recovery absorbed most losses as Cardano struggled to defend the $0.20 support level.

Cardano declined across four consecutive sessions between September 7 and September 10 before rebounding from Friday’s low. August wholesale prices increased 0.4%, matching forecasts and reinforcing concerns that inflation remains difficult for policymakers to control. Likewise, the Consumer Price Index rose 0.4% during August, compared with the smaller 0.1% increase recorded in July.

Cardano Advances Dijkstra Preparations Despite ADA Market Pressure

Despite ADA’s weakness, Cardano developers progressed with technical preparations supporting the blockchain’s planned transition into the Dijkstra development era. Node 11.2 integration is underway and will establish the infrastructure required for early Dijkstra testing across Cardano’s ecosystem.

Meanwhile, Cardano-node-11.1.1 carries a Dijkstra pre-release designation and approaches mainnet readiness with several important database improvements. This release removes the V1 LedgerDB and LMDB storage backend while making ledger snapshots predictable, shareable, and compatible with Mithril.

Node 11.2 will incorporate Dijkstra features and the new block format, although the release will exclude Leios functionality. Nevertheless, developers do not consider this version capable of surviving the eventual hard fork without additional testing and technical preparation. Instead, it will support feature testing, downstream tooling integration, and wider assessment through a dedicated public network called DijkstraNet.

Hydra and Leios Strengthen Cardano Scaling Work

Additionally, Hydra 2.4.1 was released alongside the Cardano-init open beta and the first stable version of Plu-ts. Developers also improved the Leios prototype, strengthening Cardano’s wider scaling strategy as technical work advances across multiple areas.

ADA’s direction depends heavily on whether buyers can protect $0.20 and rebuild confidence following the long-position liquidation wave. A sustained breakdown could trigger additional leveraged losses, whereas stabilization may reduce selling pressure across Cardano’s derivatives market.
