ORBS Coin Founders

The Orbs blockchain was built and designed by a team of Israeli-based researchers and crypto enthusiasts: Daniel Peled, Tal Kol, Netta Korin, and Uriel Peled.

They are trained and experienced engineers, businessmen, and scientists who have managed to create an infrastructure that uses blockchain virtualization and randomized Proof-of-Stake (RPoS) to ensure blockchain scalability.

Daniel Peled was the co-founder and CEO at PayKey, an Israeli Fintech startup with investors such as MasterCard and Santander InnoVentures. She currently chairs IMPACT, one of Israel's most extensive scholarship programs, which has helped produce over 7,000 graduates and 4,000 students in Israel. For over 15 years, Netta has served on multiple boards in Israel and America, holding high-level positions on Executive Committees.

Tai Kol co-founded Appixia, a mobile app startup acquired by Wix.com, and was Wix.com Head of Mobile Engineering. He is an expert in blockchain consumer applications and former Head of Engineering in Kin by Kik Interactive. Tal is an open-source enthusiast, contributor to the React ecosystem, and conference speaker. He holds a BSc summa cum laude in Computer Engineering from the Technion.

 

Uriel Peled is a consultant on several blockchain projects, earning him a reputation as one of Israel's most influential and respected tech personalities. He has a degree in electrical engineering from the Technion. Before joining the Orbs team, Peled co-founded Visualead, an AR/VR startup later acquired by Alibaba.

How Does Orbs Work

The Orbs protocol is decentralized and executed by a public network of permissionless validators using Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus. The Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism rewards its stakers over time.

 

The Orbs Network offers predictable, low fees and high scalability to meet the demands of large-scale consumer applications. It combines its own scalability, virtual chain isolation, and low fees with the decentralized ecosystem of Ethereum to allow developers to scale their decentralized blockchain applications massively.

Orbs Staking

Orbs staking works like any other blockchain that uses the Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism to enable Orbs users to earn passive income while participating in the Orbs ecosystem.

The system is run by two kinds of users: the Guardians, aka the Validators, and the Delegators. The Delegators are ORBS token holders who assign their voting weight to Guardians. The Guardians review the Validators, monitor their operations, and approve Validators that follow the protocol correctly to ensure proper network operation and security.

Orbs users can stake idle ORBS assets and earn passive income. Staking with Orbs is to participate in the network’s operations (validating blocks) by becoming Delegators who assign their stakes to Validators.

Rewards

ORBS stakers are rewarded for their stakes, and token holders that delegate to an active Guardian are rewarded in proportion to their stake. 

The annual reward is up to 8% of the Delegators' staked tokens (subject to an 80M Orbs Token cap on total rewards).
