Ripple President Monica Long praised XRP’s earliest builders as the cryptocurrency launched its official X account on October 19, 2026. Her message recognized developers and supporters who helped establish the network before it gained broader recognition.

Monica Long Celebrates XRP Account Launch as Network Surpasses 8.2 Million Addresses

According to Long, watching people build around XRP before its potential became apparent was particularly rewarding. Responding to the account’s debut, she wrote, “The best part has been watching people build on something before it was obvious.”

Long welcomed @XRP, joining other Ripple executives and community members marking the account’s arrival. Its debut came more than 14 years after the XRP Ledger launched.

The account introduced itself through a logo video carrying the message, “hello, world. It’s about time.” The post attracted over 260,000 views within an hour and surpassed four million views within 24 hours.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse also welcomed the launch, writing, “This one has been a long time coming.”

Long’s remarks also drew attention to the developers behind the network’s early development. David Schwartz, Jed McCaleb, and Arthur Britto began creating the XRP Ledger in 2011.

The blockchain launched in June 2012, establishing infrastructure for XRP transactions and other applications. XRPScan data shows approximately 8,247,694 addresses on the network, reflecting its scale more than a decade later.

XRP Community Receives Scam Warning Amid Growing Institutional Activity

Meanwhile, XRP Ledger community figure Hussein Zangana, known as Vet, highlighted announcements involving major companies and institutions. He suggested activity surrounding XRP and the network could accelerate over the coming weeks.

Vet also warned users about scammers employing misleading wallet addresses and tokens to obtain genuine XRP or RLUSD. Such offers can appear credible when users rely only on names displayed by blockchain explorers.

He urged community members to verify institutional announcements through official company websites before trusting associated accounts or assets. The warning addressed the risks of treating unverified listings as evidence of legitimate institutional involvement.

Long’s message centered on the developers and supporters who helped build XRP’s ecosystem. The official account adds a recognizable social media presence as community members navigate announcements and potential impersonation attempts.
