XRP draws $184M as traders bet against the crash. CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost flagged the activity on Binance after XRP fell below $1.30.
The rebound that followed was about 5%. The number needs a careful read before anyone calls a turning point.

What Is the $184M?
It is taker-buy volume on Binance perpetual swaps. That counts buy orders filled over several hours.
It is not cash deposited on the exchange. The peak hour passed $73M, while Bybit saw about $1M and OKX about $451,000.
Several other Binance hours topped $35M. Darkfost described the buying as speculative and short-term.
XRP had fallen about 22.5% from its $1.65 high on 23 September. Hot CPI and PPI data hit the market, and Bitcoin was already defying two macro headwinds.
What Else Supports XRP?
U.S. spot XRP ETFs took in $740,000 on 14 October. Cumulative inflows are near $1.8B, SoSoValue data shows. Ripple also signed DriveWealth to bring RLUSD to the XRP Ledger, starting in Europe.
Meritz Securities will explore Ripple’s custody and tokenization tools. Evernorth now trades on Nasdaq as XRPN and holds 473 million XRP.
On-chain use is rising too, as XRP Ledger RWA transfer volume hit $7.03B. Community notes separate verified deals from rumors, such as claims about Fed pricing.
XRP Slips Back Toward $1.30
At about 19:55 UTC on 16 October 2026, XRP traded at $1.30. That is down 6.1% over seven days. The BTC pair stood at 0.00001596.
The seven-day chart opens near $1.385 on 10 October. XRP peaked near $1.425 on 12 October, then slid to about $1.32 on 13 October.

A rebound to $1.37 followed on 14 October. Selling returned on 15 October, and price hit a low near $1.29. A bounce took XRP to about $1.34 on 16 October before it eased back.
The CryptoQuant chart shows the biggest buy bar, above $73M, near the start of 15 October. A cluster of $26M to $40M bars follows near the midday low.
What Could Break the Bounce?
Leverage cuts both ways. Fresh longs can fuel a bounce, but they can also be forced out if price drops again. Analysts watch $1.42 as resistance.
Fund demand elsewhere is thin, since Bitcoin ETF inflows collapsed 88% in early October. The next test is simple. Spot buyers need to show up where the leverage traders led.
