Bitcoin Could Revisit $76K Before Any Run to the Cardano Founder's $250K Target

Three Things to Know
- Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson says Bitcoin can reach $250,000 within two years, driven by demand from AI agents.
- Bitcoin sits flat on its 50-day average as improving momentum clashes with a seller-led trend.
- A drop below the nearest support would test the bullish case first.
The call lands while Bitcoin drifts sideways after a soft month, with buyers and sellers evenly matched. Traders want to know whether the market can hold its long-term floor or faces a deeper pullback first.
Hoskinson Bets AI Agents Will Carry Bitcoin to $250,000
Charles Hoskinson, the founder of the Cardano blockchain, says Bitcoin can reach $250,000 within two years.
His case rests on a new kind of buyer. Hoskinson argues that AI agents, software programs that act and transact on their own, will become the next major source of demand for Bitcoin. In his view, these agents will need a neutral digital asset to hold and move value without a bank in the middle.
The chart sets a high bar for that thesis. Bitcoin trades near $80K, so the coin would need to more than triple in two years to get there.
Nearer obstacles come first. Sellers have defended a resistance zone in the mid-$80Ks, and buyers would need to clear it to show the uptrend is resuming. A break below support would weaken the bullish premise.
Bitcoin Stalls Right on Its 50-Day Line

Bitcoin is sitting directly on its 50-day moving average, the average closing price over the past 50 sessions. Traders watch this line as a gauge of the medium-term trend. Right now price and average are level, so the market has no clear edge in either direction.
A second cushion sits a little lower. The 200-day average, a slower measure of the long-term trend, runs near $77K. That line has acted as a floor, and buyers would likely defend it on any dip.
Bitcoin was flat on the day and the week. That calm follows a drop of about 6% in the past month. The rebound from that slide has paused and has yet to turn into a fresh advance.
As long as Bitcoin stays above the 200-day line, its long-term uptrend remains in place.
Momentum Improves While Sellers Still Steer
RSI, a 0 to 100 gauge of momentum, reads 50 on the daily chart. That is the exact midpoint, so Bitcoin is neither overheated nor oversold.
MACD, a tool that tracks shifts in momentum, has crossed above its signal line. That points to improving upward pressure. The trend now taking shape is still led by sellers, though. The two signals pull in opposite directions, and neither has won yet.
Where $76K and $85K Draw the Battle Lines
Support sits near $76K, just under the 200-day line. A daily close below it would open room for a slide toward $65K. A retest that deep would push any long-range target further out.
Resistance starts around $85K, with a second cap near $87K. Sellers have turned price back from this zone before. A clean move through both levels would give the bullish call its first real backing from the chart.
Two Paths for the Next 72 Hours
Bitcoin's next move depends on which edge of its range gives way first.
- Bullish: A close above the nearest resistance would put the second ceiling in play. A slip back below the 50-day average would cancel that setup and return control to sellers.
- Bearish: A break under the 200-day line would expose the nearest floor, with the deeper support next if selling builds. A reclaim of the nearest resistance would invalidate this path.
A Distant Target Meets a Waiting Market
Hoskinson's forecast rests on AI agents buying Bitcoin over years, and no chart from the coming weeks can confirm or refute that. For now the daily picture reads neutral, and sellers still leave room for a deeper pullback before any long climb begins.
