IOST v4.0.0 Mainnet Upgrade Announcement

We are pleased to announce that IOST v4.0.0 has been officially released, and all mainnet consensus nodes have successfully completed the upgrade. The network is operating smoothly following the update.

This release introduces improvements to transaction processing consistency, smart contract execution stability, and overall node reliability, alongside important updates to the mainnet’s network rules.

Important: Mandatory Upgrade for Node Operators

IOST v4.0.0 is a mandatory upgrade that introduces backward-incompatible changes to the network rules.

All exchanges, custodians, and other mainnet node operators that have not yet upgraded must update to v4.0.0 immediately to maintain network compatibility, ensure proper block synchronization, and avoid potential service disruptions.

Ecosystem partners relying on third-party node providers should also verify that their providers have completed the upgrade and that their nodes are synchronizing correctly.

After upgrading, use the following command to check the commit hash and version:

• Note: If the node panics after a manual upgrade or container recreation, check that `security-opt` is set to `seccomp:unconfined`.
