The report, published on July 11, suggested that Musk directed his team to plan an off-world habitat capable of surviving Mars’ harsh conditions.

According to the New York Times, insiders familiar with Musk’s comments stated that he had offered his sperm for this ambitious project. The report detailed efforts to design “small dome habitats” and develop spacesuits that could endure Mars’ extreme environment, consisting of 95% carbon dioxide and only 0.13% oxygen.

However, Musk took to X to dismiss these claims. “I have not, for what it’s worth, ‘volunteered my sperm,’” Musk stated in response to the circulating article. He emphasized that no one at SpaceX has been instructed to work on a Mars city at this stage.
