Meteora’s MET token rose notably this week after the Solana-based liquidity protocol announced DLMM Pro, a system for token launch markets. MET climbed from around $0.30 to the mid-$0.40 range by October 7 and 8, reaching $0.47.

The move accelerated as traders reacted to the announcement. Market trackers showed MET gaining 40% over 24 hours, while its 30-day advance moved above 100%. Spot trading volume also increased during the rally.

Meteora Rolls Out New Liquidity Product

Meteora’s decentralized exchange recorded $187 million to $188 million in volume on October 6, close to Raydium’s volume that day. Wallets also reached a high of 175,000, adding to signs of increased activity on the platform.

The activity came as Meteora announced DLMM Pro on October 6 through its official account, directing users to a waitlist. A follow-up post said the system combines ideas from DLMM, DAMM v2 and Dynamic Bonding Curve, giving token teams greater control over liquidity and fees.

DLMM Pro is designed to use a single liquidity pool from launch, removing the need for later migration between pools. Teams can create and save liquidity curves, while fees can start higher and decline as a market develops.

Liquidity-provider positions will be represented as NFTs, with options to merge, lock, vest or delegate them. Meteora also said pool setup costs will be 10 times lower, although access remains limited while the waitlist is open.

DLMM Pro Draws Trader Attention

DLMM Pro builds on Meteora’s Dynamic Liquidity Market Maker, which divides liquidity into price bins and uses the active bin for swaps at a fixed price. The protocol distributes part of its DLMM fees to stakers in USDC, while its share of protocol fees was increased earlier this year.

Traders are pointing to possible token buybacks and Meteora’s smaller market capitalization compared with Raydium despite similar daily volume. However, those factors remain secondary to the reaction surrounding DLMM Pro and the increase in trading activity.

The current move does not yet show sustained usage of DLMM Pro because the product remains on a waitlist. MET’s relative-strength readings are elevated, while a token unlock expected around October 23 could add another factor for traders.
