ADA Pullback Likely to Trigger Bearish Breakdown as XRP Stalls Near $1.28

Three Things to Know

  • XRP ranked among the stronger large caps on Nov. 3 as crypto followed stocks higher.
  • Cardano carries the weaker chart, with sellers firmly in charge and momentum still pointing down.
  • ADA's thin floor near $0.17 is the line that would confirm a breakdown.

Crypto bounced alongside tech stocks on Nov. 3, and XRP finished among the day's better performers. Spot Bitcoin ETFs still bled cash, so the rally ran without institutional support.

That gap matters for XRP and Cardano now. Both trade below their key moving averages, and ADA sits close to a floor with little backup. Traders want to know whether XRP's improving momentum can hold, or whether ADA cracks first and drags sentiment lower.

XRP Holds Up While ETF Money Keeps Leaving

XRP gained about 2.7% on Nov. 3. Zcash led that group with a jump of roughly 7.3%. The broader market moved up with it. Bitcoin rose about 1.5% to near $77,800. Ethereum climbed to around $2,290.

Solana rose to near $93.70. Crypto took its cue from stocks. The Nasdaq closed up about 0.8% as chip shares recovered from a sell-off tied to AI spending.

Spot Bitcoin ETFs kept losing money all the same. They shed about $643 million on Friday, Oct. 30, and another $399 million on Monday. That means the bounce ran without fresh institutional cash behind it.

Fund prices rose with the market regardless. BlackRock's IBIT gained about 1.6%, and Fidelity's FBTC matched it. BlackRock's Ether fund, ETHA, also gained.

Traders are also watching the U.S. midterm elections. The results could reshape expectations for fiscal spending, AI rules and digital asset policy. Many coins still trade well below their early-fall highs, so the gains look fragile.

XRP Needs $1.35 Before the Bounce Counts

XRP trades near $1.28, and the live data shows the day's move has already flattened out. The token is down about 4% over the past week and roughly 16% over the past month. The daily gain has done little to repair October's damage.

The bigger problem is the trend. XRP sits below its 50-day moving average near $1.33. Its 200-day average sits higher, near $1.36. Both lines act as ceilings while price stays under them. Sellers still control the broader direction.

RSI, a 0 to 100 gauge of momentum, reads about 43. That is soft but well clear of oversold territory. Buyers have room to push without the move looking stretched, yet they have not taken charge.

One signal has turned friendlier. The MACD, a tool that tracks shifts in momentum, has crossed above its signal line. That often marks the early stage of easing selling pressure.

On the daily chart, the nearest resistance sits at $1.35, just above the 50-day line. That zone is the first real test for any bounce. A daily close above it would put XRP back near its 200-day average and open a path toward $1.44.

Failure there carries a cost. The chart shows little support between the current price and $1.12. A rejection at the 50-day zone could send XRP sliding into that gap quickly.

Deeper support waits near $0.99. A drop that far would erase most of the gains from the past several months. It would also confirm that sellers still set the pace.

For now, XRP is holding up better than many peers. The token still has to prove the bounce can last beyond one day.

Cardano Slides Toward the Floor That Decides the Breakdown

Cardano has no such cushion. ADA trades near $0.19 after falling about 7% over the past week. The monthly loss is steeper, at roughly 27%. That makes it one of the weaker large-cap charts heading into November.

The token sits below its 50-day average near $0.22. Its 200-day average sits just above, near $0.23. Both lines now cap any rally attempt. The trend behind the decline is also firmer than XRP's. Trend-strength readings show a real downtrend, with sellers in control.

Momentum offers little comfort. The MACD is still below its signal line, so the turn that showed up on XRP has not arrived here. Selling pressure has not started to fade in any measurable way.

RSI reads about 32, just above the oversold mark of 30. That reflects heavy, persistent selling. Readings this low can bring a short relief bounce as sellers pause. They do not reverse a trend on their own, and oversold coins often stay oversold for weeks.

On the daily chart, support sits near $0.17, and the next layer sits at almost the same price. That leaves a thin floor with little backup beneath it. A daily close under that floor would confirm the breakdown and expose ADA to a fresh leg lower.

Bulls have a short list of tasks. They first need to reclaim $0.20, the nearest resistance. A move through $0.21 would then show that the slide has stalled. Until that happens, the path of least resistance points down.

Two Paths for the Next Three Days

The next three days should show which chart gives way first.

  • Bullish: XRP closes above its first resistance cluster, and ADA reclaims its nearest ceiling. Together, those moves would show buyers absorbing the ETF outflows. The setup fails if XRP slips under its lower support, the level that closes the gap on its chart.
  • Bearish: ADA closes under its thin floor, and XRP stalls at the resistance cluster. That combination would confirm sellers still set the pace. The call breaks down if XRP holds above its 50-day average.

Where This Leaves Holders

XRP holders have a coin that is stabilizing, though the bounce remains unproven until it clears its overhead averages. ADA holders face the weaker chart, with price sitting closest to the floor that would confirm a breakdown.

Sentiment can still turn quickly. Further ETF withdrawals or surprise midterm results could jolt both tokens, in either direction, within a single session.
