Arbitrum, Base or Optimism? Layer-Two Routes Into a Crypto Casino Compared

Ethereum mainnet can make a small casino deposit expensive. Arbitrum, Base and Optimism move the same ETH and stablecoins for a fraction of the fee, so cashiers now list them as separate routes.
The three networks look alike from a wallet: same address format, same fee coin, similar speed. They differ on who built them, which tokens a given cashier accepts on each and how they suit the wallet or exchange you already use.
Below: what a layer two does, the three networks compared, the route for each wallet, three pitfalls, and withdrawals.
What a Layer Two Does
Layer twos process transactions away from Ethereum mainnet, then post compressed batches back to it. Arbitrum, Optimism and Base all use a design called an optimistic rollup, which assumes batches are valid unless someone challenges them.
Fees dropped sharply after Ethereum's Dencun upgrade in March 2024, which cut the cost of the data they post to mainnet. All three charge fees in ETH, so a wallet needs a little ETH on the chosen network even when it sends a stablecoin.
The well-known seven-day wait applies to withdrawals from a rollup back to Ethereum through its official bridge. Transfers within one layer two, such as a casino deposit, confirm far quicker.
Three Networks at a Glance
The three routes share a design but differ in origin and token list. Here they appear side by side, with the assets Dexsport accepts on each.

Dexsport lists six assets each on Arbitrum and Optimism and three on Base, among 26 networks at its cashier. Its deposit screen labels Arbitrum as ARB1 and Optimism as OP.
Which Route Fits Your Wallet
The lowest-cost route usually starts where your funds already live. Common situations map to a layer two as follows.
Your situation
Route that fits
Why
Funds on Coinbase
Base
Coinbase supports Base sends directly
Funds already on Arbitrum
Arbitrum
Skip a bridge and its fee
Holding OP or WLD
Optimism
Both tokens trade there
Holding USDT

Routes that start on an exchange depend on which networks that exchange supports for withdrawals, so check its list before you pick one.
Three Common Pitfalls
Layer twos remove most of the cost, though a few mistakes still catch new users.
Bridged USDC Versus Native USDC
Arbitrum and Optimism each host two kinds of USDC: native USDC issued by Circle and older bridged USDC.e. Dexsport lists them as separate entries, and its deposit screen shows USDC.e as "Bridget". Our piece on USDC.e mix-ups explains how a mismatch can cost a deposit.
Zero ETH for Gas
Every transfer on these networks pays its fee in ETH. Wallets with 100 USDC and zero ETH on Base cannot send the USDC, so add a small ETH balance on the network first.
The Wrong EVM Network
Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism and Base share one address format, so a deposit address looks identical on all four. Send on a network the cashier did not show for that address, and recovery may depend on the operator. Read the chain name on the deposit screen before every send.
Withdrawals Back to a Layer Two
Withdrawals follow the same logic in reverse: pick the network your wallet will receive on, and confirm the token matches. Our look at network fees shows how the choice of chain affects cost.
Each coin on each layer two has its own minimum at Dexsport, pegged to a dollar figure. Before a first withdrawal, each deposit needs one round of sports bets at odds of 1.3 or higher, or x2 turnover in casino games, and Cash Out settlements stay outside that count. Dexapp LTD holds the platform's Anjouan licence, and the asset list evolves over time.
Conclusion
Arbitrum, Optimism and Base all run as optimistic rollups on Ethereum, charge fees in ETH and cut deposit costs sharply compared with mainnet. They differ on origin, token list and fit: Base suits Coinbase users, Arbitrum suits DeFi holders, and Optimism suits OP and WLD holders.
At Dexsport, Arbitrum and Optimism each list six assets, USDT and USDC.e among them, while Base lists three. Keep a little ETH on the network, match USDC with USDC.e correctly, and confirm the label before you send.
