Ethereum Price Today: What Are Whales Doing?

ETH is flat, but large buyers are active. This Ethereum News section looks at who is buying and how much.

According to Arkham data shared by analyst EmberCN, one whale spent 17.24 million USDC on 7,703.2 ETH about nine hours before the report. The price was $2,237.6. He had also bought 1,671 tokens from a centralized exchange half a month earlier. In total he holds 9,375.6 ETH, worth $21.23 million, at an average cost of $2,264.

Maji Reopens ETH Longs: How Risky Is the Trade?

Not every big position is a bullish signal. Maji’s ETH longs were fully liquidated this morning after the drop tied to the Binance hack. He then deposited another 250,000 USDC and reopened leveraged longs on Hyperliquid.

His ETH, HYPE and BTC longs are now worth about $5.88 million. His ETH liquidation price is $2,161, only $86 below the current price. A small dip could wipe the position out again.

His record adds context. He has traded on Hyperliquid for nearly 18 months, with $15.86 billion in volume and $37.05 million in total losses. Whale buying with spot funds and leveraged speculation are very different things. One builds a holding. The other can end in a forced close.

BlackRock Moves $83.3M in ETH: Should Investors Worry?

Onchain Lens reported that BlackRock moved 37,470 ETH, about $83.3 million, from its ETF wallets to Coinbase Prime. Coinbase Prime is Coinbase’s service for institutional trading and custody.

Investors watch such moves because exchange deposits can come before sales. But a transfer alone does not show that BlackRock sold anything. It could be custody, rebalancing or operations. Without more evidence, treating it as selling pressure would be a guess.

Scroll Plans a Permissioned Network: What Happens to SCR and USX?

Scroll shared an update from its October 30 DAO monthly call. The Ethereum Layer 2 network plans to move to a permissioned network. It also proposes moving SCR and USX to Ethereum mainnet.

Scroll says a detailed proposal will follow, and the change will go through governance review. The Foundation will keep leading product work, while the DAO slowly takes on an oversight and accountability role. Scroll is also building positions.scroll.io so users can review positions and move or withdraw assets safely.

Migration

SCR and USX move to mainnet (proposed)

No deadline is confirmed, and the migration has not happened. Everything depends on the proposal and the vote.

What Should SCR and USX Holders Know?

Holders should check their current positions early. When the positions dashboard goes live, it should show what they own and how to move or withdraw it. Follow only official Scroll Network channels for timelines, steps and eligibility. Never send tokens through unofficial migration links or unverified instructions, because migrations often attract scammers.

Vitalik’s Digital Minimalism: Can Local AI Improve Privacy?

Vitalik Buterin published an essay called “Digital Minimalism” on cutting back on social media, cellular networks and web apps. His main concern is that a web app reloads its code from a server on every visit.

That leaves users exposed if the server is breached. Websites can also identify people through device and behavior data and share it with third parties.

He gave two examples. He recently updated an IPFS hash on ENS with a command-line tool written by AI. He also made several privacy-focused payments with kohaku-cli. His argument is that local AI can let people run simple, composable tools through plain language. That would mean less reliance on complex apps and more control for users.

Conclusion

This Ethereum News roundup shows mixed signals. Whale buying suggests confidence, while Maji’s leveraged longs show how risky speculation can be. Scroll’s proposed migration could affect token holders in practical ways, so they should watch official updates.

Vitalik’s essay is a reminder that privacy and user control remain central to Ethereum. For the latest Ethereum News, follow market data and official project channels, not single transactions or early proposals.
