What to Know
- XRP Ledger active accounts reached 25,700, exceeding the monthly average as existing wallets drove much of the network participation increase.
- Total transactions surged 55.9% to 3.5 million, while payment volume declined 49.6%, revealing mixed activity across the XRP Ledger network.
- XRP traded near $1.33 despite stronger network activity, with resistance around $1.40 and key support remaining near the $1.25 level.
The XRP Ledger recorded a major increase in network participation on October 21, with thousands of existing accounts returning to activity. According to XRPScan data, active accounts reached 25,700, representing a 12% increase within 24 hours.
This figure exceeded the network’s 30-day average of 18,600 accounts, reflecting stronger participation across the blockchain. Meanwhile, new account registrations increased 35.6% to approximately 4,500, indicating that existing wallets accounted for most activity.
The figures suggest that previously inactive accounts contributed significantly to the increase, rather than participation coming entirely from new users. Notably, the network recorded higher transaction counts alongside the growth in active accounts.

XRP Ledger Transactions Climb as Existing Accounts Return
Transaction activity expanded considerably, with total transactions increasing 55.9% to 3.5 million during the reporting period. Successful transactions also climbed 67.8% to 2.9 million, reflecting greater activity across the network.
Additionally, transactions per ledger increased 61.5% to 179.34, showing that the blockchain processed more operations during the period. Network fees also increased, with XRP burned through transaction fees rising 20% to 747.6 XRP.
Despite these increases, payment activity followed a different direction, with payment transactions declining 4.4% to approximately 741,900. Total payment volume also dropped 49.6% to 350.9 million XRP, indicating fewer XRP transfers by volume.

Meanwhile, a separate active-user metric declined 50% to 85,200, presenting a mixed picture of overall network participation. XRPScan’s historical figures place the record for active accounts at approximately 106,000, considerably above the October 21 reading.
These differences show that the transaction increase occurred alongside weaker payment volumes and uneven participation across network metrics. The latest figures also highlight the growing contribution of nonpayment transactions to overall ledger activity.
XRP Price Remains Below Key Resistance Despite Network Growth
XRP traded near $1.33 despite the increase in blockchain activity, maintaining a relatively narrow daily trading range. Market data placed the cryptocurrency between $1.32 and $1.37, with resistance emerging around the $1.37 to $1.40 region.
The cryptocurrency remained below its longer-term moving average, while the relative strength index stayed beneath its midpoint. Trading volume also remained subdued compared with earlier periods, reflecting limited momentum across the market.
Meanwhile, the $1.25 level remained an important support area following XRP’s previous recovery from that region earlier in October. A move above $1.40 would place XRP beyond its immediate resistance zone, while $1.25 remains the lower technical level.
Despite stronger account participation and transaction growth, XRP’s market performance remained subdued during the reporting period. The October 21 figures therefore showed expanding ledger activity alongside declining payment volume and limited price movement.
