Shiba Inu fell on Thursday evening, November 5, 2026, to its lowest level since August 19. On Kraken the daily low was $0.00000437, and late in the evening SHIB traded at $0.00000452, or roughly €0.00000403. Over 24 hours it is down 5.6 percent. What is established: the zone around $0.0000045, which had still held on October 30 and November 4, was breached during the day, and SHIB fell almost exactly as much as Bitcoin. Our assessment follows further down: as long as the meme token is merely being dragged along by the broader market and no selling pressure of its own appears, the Bitcoin price will decide more about the coming days than any SHIB news.

The trigger did not come from the Shiba Inu camp. In the afternoon, falling chip stocks on the Nasdaq pulled down the entire crypto market. Bitcoin briefly slipped below $75,600 and stood at around $75,800 in the evening, 6.3 percent lower than the previous day. This prediction assesses what the break below $0.0000045 means, which levels lie below and above, what the comparison with August shows and which points you can clarify now as an investor in Germany.

Shiba Inu on Thursday evening: daily low of $0.00000437 below the $0.0000045 zone

The trading day on Kraken opened at $0.00000472. The daily high of $0.00000478 stayed just above that, after which the price fell with almost no rebound. The low at $0.00000437 is about three percent below the zone that was tested three times over the past ten days. On October 30 the price turned at $0.00000446, on November 4 at $0.00000447. This time demand there was not enough, and the price broke through.

Volume is noteworthy. In the SHIB/US dollar pair on Kraken, around 77 billion tokens changed hands by the evening. The average for the preceding 30 days is just under 90 billion. A break of important support on below-average volume is a weaker signal than a break with a wave of selling: what is missing is the capitulation in which many holders give up at the same time.

According to CoinGecko, this gives Shiba Inu a market capitalisation of around $2.66 billion, ranking 37th among the largest cryptocurrencies. Over 30 days SHIB has lost 21.4 percent, over seven days 2.8 percent.

Since November 4: what has changed in the SHIB price in 24 hours

On Wednesday evening the picture still looked different. Our article on exchange inflows for Shiba Inu of November 4 cited a price of $0.00000473, a daily gain of 2.2 percent, and the zone around $0.0000045 as the line above which the inflows pointed more to returning trading activity. A little more than 24 hours later, three things have shifted.

First, the price has fallen by about 4.4 percent, from $0.00000473 to $0.00000452. Second, the zone around $0.0000045 did not hold during the day; whether it gives way on a closing basis will be decided by the daily close at midnight UTC. Third, the 20-day line, which stood at $0.00000488 on Wednesday, has dropped to $0.00000485 and is moving away from the price rather than towards it. The picture above is unchanged: the resistance zone between $0.0000050 and $0.0000052, where SHIB was rejected twice at the end of October, remains in place.

In tow: the ratio of SHIB to Bitcoin has moved within a narrow range for ten days.

SHIB against Bitcoin: the ratio has held near 0.006 satoshi for ten days

A second look at the ratio of SHIB to Bitcoin is worthwhile. A satoshi is one hundred millionth of a bitcoin. Converting Kraken's daily closing prices, one SHIB cost around 0.00607 satoshi on October 27, 0.00589 satoshi on November 4 and 0.00596 satoshi on Thursday evening. The entire range over the past ten days runs from 0.00589 to 0.00622 satoshi, barely more than five percent.

That is the real news behind the low: SHIB is falling no harder than the market and is moving almost in lockstep with Bitcoin. On Thursday Bitcoin lost 6.3 percent over 24 hours, Shiba Inu 5.6 percent and Dogecoin 7.6 percent. The larger meme coin was hit harder, and SHIB even held up slightly better than the market leader. Selling pressure of its own, for instance from large wallets or from the Binance attackers who had dumped SHIB in early November, cannot be seen in these figures.

For the prediction, this means that anyone who wants to know where SHIB is heading in the coming days has to watch Bitcoin above all. If Bitcoin steadies, SHIB is likely to follow; if Bitcoin keeps falling towards $72,000, the ratio offers no reason why SHIB would be spared.

Nasdaq sell-off: chip stocks drag meme coins down too

On Thursday the pressure came from the stock market. As we reported in the afternoon, chip stocks on the Nasdaq fell by up to 11 percent and took Bitcoin with them. In phases like this, crypto and technology stocks share a large part of their buyer base: funds and traders cutting risk sell first whatever is most volatile. Meme coins rank high on that list.

Then there are the mechanics of the derivatives market. When Bitcoin falls quickly, leveraged long positions are forcibly closed. A liquidation is the automatic sale of a leveraged position once the collateral posted no longer covers the loss. These sales also hit altcoins, because many traders hold several positions in the same account. The background to the Bitcoin slump and the price targets below is set out in our analysis Why BTC fell to $75,568.

The comparison with August: back then SHIB closed below $0.0000045 for seven days

A look back shows that a break of the zone need not be the end point. In August SHIB already traded in exactly this band once. Between August 11 and 18, the price on Kraken closed below $0.0000045 on seven days, with the low at $0.00000435 on August 12. On August 19 came a daily gain of just over seven percent to $0.00000474, and by September 22 SHIB had climbed to $0.00000627. From the August low, that was about 44 percent.

Two differences from then should not be overlooked, however. In August Bitcoin was trading considerably higher and rose with it in the weeks that followed; SHIB's recovery was part of a broad upswing. Today Bitcoin has been falling since early October. In addition, SHIB's low for the year is $0.00000405, reached on June 25. Only a little more than seven percent separates today's daily low from that low for the year.

Shiba Inu price prediction to the upside: 20-day line at $0.00000485 and 200-day line at $0.00000515

The hurdles for a rebound are clear. The first is the zone around $0.0000045 itself. If SHIB closes the day back above it, Thursday's low would be a false breakdown, and the situation would again match Wednesday's. The second hurdle is the 20-day line at $0.00000485, calculated from Kraken's daily closing prices. A moving average is the mean of closing prices over a fixed period; it shows the direction of the trend without the daily swings.

Above that is the resistance zone between $0.0000050 and $0.0000052, where SHIB failed on October 28 and 29. This zone also holds the 100-day line at $0.00000514 and the 200-day line at $0.00000515. The halfway mark of the decline from the 30-day high of $0.00000592 on October 6 to today's low is around $0.00000518, so it lies there too. Only a daily close above this cluster would end the downtrend that began in early October.

Our assessment: a move back to $0.00000485 is possible once Bitcoin stabilises, because the ratio of SHIB to Bitcoin has held for ten days. The below-average volume during the break also points that way, looking more like going along with the market than capitulation. Against it is the fact that since October 6 SHIB has ended every recovery below the 20-day line, and the broader market showed no sign of bottoming on Thursday. Without a clear turnaround in Bitcoin, we currently consider a recovery above $0.0000052 unlikely.

As in August: the price sits just below the zone that has held several times recently.

Downside scenario: August low at $0.00000435 and low for the year at $0.00000405

If the zone around $0.0000045 fails on a closing basis as well, the August low at $0.00000435 comes into focus. It lies just below Thursday's daily low and is therefore the next support. Below it, there is little price history from recent months down to the year's low of $0.00000405: between late June and late July SHIB oscillated between $0.0000041 and $0.0000045 before breaking out of that range on July 25.

A fall back to the year's low would mean a drop of just over ten percent from today's price. If you trade with leverage, keep exactly this distance in mind: a long position with ten times leverage is liquidated after a decline of about ten percent, and depending on the exchange and fees even slightly earlier. That is exactly where the year's low would be.

Derivatives market on OKX: funding at 0.01 percent and $6.5 million in open positions

The derivatives market shows no panic. On OKX, the funding rate on the perpetual SHIB contract stood at 0.01 percent per eight-hour interval on Thursday evening. The funding rate is the payment that buyers and sellers of such a contract exchange with each other so that its price stays close to the spot price. 0.01 percent is the exchange's default value: neither buyers nor sellers are paying a premium to hold their positions.

Open positions in this contract added up to around 1.43 trillion SHIB, or about $6.5 million. For a token with a market value of $2.66 billion, that is little. There is no sign on OKX of a large leverage build-up whose unwinding could push the price down further. If you trade SHIB derivatives, you can find providers with EU access in our comparison of perp exchanges.

Offsetting losses: purchases from November 5, 2025 are around 51 percent under water

For investors in Germany, the price has a tax dimension. On November 5, 2025, SHIB closed at $0.00000916 on Kraken, and on November 7, 2025 the price even reached $0.00001035. Anyone who bought in those days is now down around 51 to 56 percent. Private disposals of cryptocurrencies are tax-free under Section 23 of the German Income Tax Act if more than one year passes between purchase and sale. The flip side: a loss realised after that period no longer counts for tax purposes.

Within the one-year period, by contrast, a realised loss can be offset against gains from other private disposals in the same year, for example from Bitcoin or Ether that you bought less than a year ago and sold at a profit. For purchases from the first week of November 2025, this period is just running out. What matters is the purchase date of each individual tranche, and the tax office calculates on a FIFO basis: what was bought first is treated as sold first. A crypto tax tool shows at a glance which tranche reaches its one-year mark and when.

Buying and storing SHIB under MiCA

If you are considering an entry at a price close to the year's low, check the trading venue. Since the end of the transition period of the EU's MiCA regulation, crypto exchanges may only serve customers in Germany with a licence. Differences in trading fees and spreads are noticeable for a token like SHIB with many decimal places. Our comparison of crypto exchanges offers an overview of licensed providers.

For larger holdings, storage off the exchange remains an option. SHIB is an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain and can be held on any hardware wallet that supports Ethereum. It is important to keep the seed phrase offline and to test transfers with a small amount first.

SHIB price prediction: the downtrend only ends above $0.0000052

The break below $0.0000045 is a warning sign, but not yet a crash in its own right: SHIB is falling in step with Bitcoin, on low volume and with no leverage build-up in the derivatives market. Three steps you can take now:

  1. Wait for the daily close: the key question is whether SHIB closes the day above or below $0.0000045. Below it, the August low at $0.00000435 becomes the next test. You can buy SHIB from the providers in our exchange comparison.
  2. Sort your tranches: check which of your SHIB purchases date from November 2025 and whether realising a loss before the one-year period ends makes sense for tax purposes. The tax tools help with the overview.
  3. Secure your holdings: if you hold SHIB for the long term, it is best kept in your own wallet. You can find suitable devices in our hardware wallet comparison.
