What to Know

  • XRP’s four-hour Bollinger Bands have narrowed to their tightest levels since August, signaling reduced volatility and potential significant price movement.
  • Analyst Ali Martinez highlighted a previous Bollinger Bands squeeze that preceded a 71% XRP rally within just three trading days.
  • A four-hour close above $1.27 signals bullish momentum, while falling below $1.23 could trigger further selling pressure across XRP markets.

XRP could experience significant price volatility as its four-hour chart reveals a technical pattern that previously preceded a 71% rally. According to crypto analyst Ali Martinez, XRP’s Bollinger Bands have narrowed to their tightest levels since August, signaling unusually low volatility, with the token trading around $1.25 as the analyst identifies $1.27 and $1.23 as critical breakout thresholds.

XRP Bollinger Bands Reach Tightest Levels Since August

Martinez’s analysis shows that XRP has entered a period of reduced volatility following substantial price fluctuations throughout October. Bollinger Bands measure price movements around a moving average, with narrowing boundaries indicating declining volatility.

The chart shows XRP experiencing considerable selling pressure between October 24 and October 30. During this period, the upper Bollinger Band approached $1.39 before prices declined toward $1.20.

Subsequently, XRP stabilized around $1.25 as trading activity produced smaller candlesticks and increasingly compressed Bollinger Bands. This development reflects weakening price fluctuations as buyers and sellers struggle to establish control.

XRP: A BIG MOVE IS COMING

The Bollinger Bands on the 4-hour chart have squeezed to their narrowest levels since August.

The last time they were this compressed, $XRP rallied 71% in just three days.

But a squeeze doesn’t predict direction.

Significantly, Martinez highlighted a previous Bollinger Bands squeeze that preceded a 71% XRP rally within three days. Nevertheless, the analyst emphasized that the current formation does not guarantee another rally or establish breakout direction.

Analyst Identifies $1.27 Breakout and $1.23 Breakdown Levels

Martinez identified two important thresholds that could determine XRP’s next movement following the volatility compression. A four-hour candle closing above $1.27 would indicate bullish momentum and potentially support further price recovery.

Conversely, a four-hour close below $1.23 would signal bearish pressure, potentially exposing XRP to additional declines. The analyst described the $1.23–$1.27 range as a no-trade zone until directional confirmation emerges.

Additionally, an upward breakout could bring resistance around $1.30 and $1.34 into consideration. Stronger buying momentum could subsequently expose the $1.36 region, where XRP previously encountered selling pressure.

On the downside, losing $1.23 could place the $1.20 support level under renewed pressure. XRP’s compressed Bollinger Bands therefore establish a critical technical setup, with confirmed four-hour closing prices determining the next directional signal.
