Hoskinson’s Midnight Tease Raises a Hard Question for ADA Holders

The project remains undisclosed in the video. Hoskinson reportedly says only Midnight can deliver it, leaving the host to assess several possibilities rather than a confirmed product announcement.

The analyst’s leading theory is a private computing framework capable of running AI agents, executing users’ instructions and proving results without exposing underlying data. Other possibilities include agents trading across blockchains or Midnight supplying privacy infrastructure to multiple networks.

Each points toward the same investment question: where does activity create token demand? Midnight’s transaction resource, DUST, is generated by holding NIGHT, giving that token a closer connection to network usage than ADA has.

Fire Hustle cites Midnight network data showing daily transactions rising from fewer than 300 to more than 26,000 in roughly a week after permissionless application deployment opened. It reports more than 47,000 daily transactions by late October, although transaction counts alone do not establish sustained demand or economic value.

For ADA holders, the more direct potential benefit is a proposed rewards arrangement involving Cardano stake pools and their delegators. According to the host, opening Midnight participation to those operators is planned for early 2027; the rewards are not presented as already operating.

Fire Hustle puts ADA near $0.20 at recording, roughly 90% below its 2021 peak. The video also cites less than $100 million locked in Cardano applications and under $2,000 in network fees on one recent day - figures that underscore the gap between anticipation and current usage.

There is precedent for expectations outrunning delivery. ADA reached its 2021 high roughly 10 days before Cardano’s smart-contract upgrade, the host notes. That history is a warning about event-driven speculation, not proof that another sell-off will follow.

The distinction for ADA investors is between a compelling reveal and measurable value reaching their holdings. NIGHT may have the nearer-term exposure to Midnight adoption; ADA’s case depends more on whether staking rewards materialize and Cardano’s own application activity grows alongside it.
