Ethereum Whale Completes $136.88 Million Liquidation Across Two Major Transactions
Blockchain records indicate that the investor began reducing Ethereum exposure on September 24, selling 42,005 ETH worth approximately $111.89 million. The transaction accounted for most of the original investment, leaving 9,996 ETH available for a subsequent sale.
The remaining holdings subsequently changed hands for approximately $25 million, completing the liquidation of the investor’s entire Ethereum position. Across both transactions, the whale achieved an average selling price of approximately $2,632 per ETH, exceeding the original acquisition cost.
This difference generated an estimated profit of $470 per token, bringing the investor’s total realized gains to approximately $24.48 million. The September liquidation occurred during broader cryptocurrency market weakness, when declining prices affected Ethereum and several other major digital assets. Despite those conditions, the investor maintained profitability because the average selling price remained considerably higher than the original purchase price.
