JPMorgan Brings Tokenized Funds to Solana: Why Solana Price Still Fell 3%

J.P. Morgan Asset Management announced on October 22 that two of its tokenized money market funds are now live on $Solana for qualified US investors. The first is the My OnChain Net Yield Fund, ticker MONY, a private placement under Rule 506(c) with a 1 million dollar entry minimum and fees of 16 basis points. The second is the JPMorgan OnChain Liquidity-Token Money Market Fund, ticker JLTXX, a US-registered government money market fund built to help stablecoin issuers manage reserves under the GENIUS Act.

Investors subscribe and redeem through Morgan Money, the bank's liquidity platform, and receive the tokens at an approved blockchain address. This is the bank's second chain after Ethereum, where JLTXX went live in May with 100 million dollars of JPMorgan's own money seeded in. Paul Przybylski, who runs digital and tokenized assets at the firm, summed up the logic: clients operate on more than one network, so their liquidity should too.

Why Is This a Big Deal for Solana?

JPMorgan is the first global systemically important bank to put a money market fund on a public blockchain, and Solana is now officially part of that stack. The bank joins BlackRock and Franklin Templeton, which both brought tokenized funds to Solana in 2025. The pattern is clear: Wall Street is treating Solana as production infrastructure for cash management, not an experiment.

The GENIUS Act angle matters too. JLTXX exists so that stablecoin issuers can park reserves in a compliant, yield-bearing instrument on-chain. Every dollar that lands there on Solana is another argument for stablecoin issuers to settle on the network. One caveat: JPMorgan has not disclosed how much capital sits in either fund on Solana, and the tokens are allow-listed, so this is institutional plumbing rather than something retail can trade.

How Did Solana Price React?

It did not. Solana price slipped about 3 percent over 24 hours to roughly 103.80 dollars, with a market cap near 61 billion dollars. SOL traded between about 103 and 109 dollars during the session and is now down around 12 percent over the past month and 65 percent below its January 2025 all-time high near 294 dollars.

The reason is simple: macro ate the headline. Bitcoin broke below 82,000 dollars on the same night, US tech stocks sold off, spot Bitcoin ETFs posted 635 million dollars in outflows and oil spiked above 110 dollars on Hormuz tensions. In a risk-off session, no single partnership announcement moves a top-10 coin. Solana fell with the market, not because of the news, and arguably a little less than it might have without it.

Solana Price Prediction: Does Institutional Adoption Matter for SOL?

In the short term, SOL trades on the same macro signals as everything else. The 100 dollar level is the one to watch. It is a round-number support, it was tested in the past week, and SkyAI's up to 201 million dollar share buyback funded by SOL sales is conditional on the price staying above it. A daily close below 100 dollars would open the door toward the mid-90s.

In the medium term, this is exactly the kind of flow that builds a floor. Tokenized treasuries and money market funds are the fastest-growing real-world asset category on-chain, and Solana now hosts the three largest names in US asset management. If BTC stabilises above 80,000 dollars, SOL reclaiming 109 dollars and then the 117 to 120 dollar zone is a realistic first target. The JPMorgan news will not be the reason for the next pump, but it is a good reason the next dip gets bought.
