Is the NFT hype the same as the early BTC hype? Or is it not the same?

I have been researching different sort of NFTs to see in which I should heavily invest. There are interesting articles about the differences and potential. I will share some info I gathered to get your opinion on gaming NFTs.

Every day, there are 2 million people who play Axie Infinity, which now is worth $3 billion. “Gaming is really exciting, as you already have billions of people who are buying digital goods inside of games,” said Devin Finzer, CEO of OpenSea, the largest NFT platform. The reason we haven’t yet seen an even wider adoption, said Finzer, is that “the development cycle is a little longer with games than with simpler arts and collectible projects. There’s a little more of a delay.” He thinks we’ll see the fruits of these developments within a year or two.

Research shows that “people spend five times more in a blockchain game than in a conventional game.” This inspired Jamie Burke, CEO of Outlier Ventures (a U.K.-based blockchain VC and accelerator lab). He said that skeptics originally “poo-pooed” this research, but then came Axie. The Axie juggernaut is proof, said Burke, that if the gamer can exit the game and cash out with crypto, and if they’re free to “do whatever the hell they want with the money,” then they’ll spend more money. “It feels really obvious now,” he said, predicting that Axie is just the very beginning of a much larger boom in gaming that will be “huge in the next decade.”

New gaming tokens or platforms will be compared to Axie as far as potential and growth. There are a couple of projects I am looking into right now, like: KittyCake, AlchemyPay, Momento, StarCoin, Spores and XRP as my personal Fav! I wonder with these platforms in development, will they see the same succes? In my opinion one of the keys to succes in crypto games is the direct cash out principle. Easy and quick exit with your money makes it appealing I think. What do you think? Would you game on a blockchain game if the money wasn't cashed out to you directly?

   submitted by /u/seuratgfhfghgf
[link] [comments]
