AVAX Needs a 9% Rally to Break Out While LINK Sits Only 3% From Its Trigger

Three Things to Know
- DTCC's chief executive joined Chainlink's co-founder on stage in New York, right after DTCC launched its tokenization service.
- LINK trades between its two key moving averages, while AVAX remains stuck below both of its own.
- LINK's 50-day average is the line to watch, since a close above it would hand buyers their first real win.
Chainlink just got its most visible Wall Street endorsement yet. The head of the largest US securities settlement firm called the oracle network a way to free trapped liquidity, and Chainlink rolled out round-the-clock pricing for tokenized assets.
The timing matters because both LINK and AVAX are trying to bounce after a bruising month. Traders now want to know whether institutional headlines can finally lift prices, or whether this rally fades like the ones before it.
DTCC's CEO Puts Chainlink Center Stage in New York
The head of the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation shared a stage with Chainlink on Oct 29. DTCC CEO Frank La Salla joined co-founder Sergey Nazarov at Link:NYC, a day after DTCC unveiled its tokenization service. La Salla said Chainlink could "unlock billions of dollars in trapped liquidity."
Chainlink paired the appearance with product news. It launched a 24/7 service that streams continuous prices for tokenized stocks, commodities and real-world assets. Aave uses Chainlink feeds for Horizon, its institutional lending market. On Oct 28, S&P Global vault risk assessments went live on Base through Chainlink.
Traders reacted, but only modestly. LINK rose about 5% in a day after dipping near $10.60, a one-month low. The token still sits roughly 78% below its May 2021 peak near $52.70.
Earlier DTCC headlines followed the same pattern. The May announcement and the July pilot barely moved the price. Chainlink also has no public fee structure that routes this business back to LINK holders.
LINK Trades Just Under the Average That Decides Its Next Leg

LINK changed hands near $11.74 on Friday, up about 1% on the week. That small gain sits against a slide of roughly 18% over the past month.
The token now trades between its two main trend lines. The 200-day moving average, which tracks the average closing price over that span, sits near $11.02 below the market. The 50-day average hangs overhead near $12.11, about 3% away. A daily finish back over the 50-day average would be the first sign that buyers have retaken control.
Momentum readings argue for patience. RSI, a 0 to 100 gauge of momentum, stands at 46. That reading is neutral and shows neither panic selling nor chasing. The MACD indicator still sits below its signal line, so momentum keeps pointing down. Trend strength gauges show a genuine trend, and sellers are driving it.
Those signals leave the recent rebound unconfirmed. A relief rally inside a seller-led trend can fade quickly.
On the daily chart, the nearest support lies near $10.91, just under the 200-day line. A break there would put both floors behind the price and open a path toward $9.75. That move would erase the post-conference bounce entirely.
Resistance first appears near $12.71. Clearing that level after a reclaim of the 50-day average would turn the institutional headlines into actual buying. The next ceiling sits near $13.60, where sellers capped earlier recovery attempts.
Why AVAX Has Further to Climb Before Bulls Can Claim a Breakout

Avalanche bounced harder on the day but stands on weaker ground. AVAX traded near $8.91, up about 4% in 24 hours. The gain left it flat for the week and still down roughly 19% over the past month.
Unlike LINK, the token sits below both of its key averages. The 200-day average hangs near $9.10, with the 50-day just above it. Both now act as ceilings, so buyers must clear two layers of selling before the chart improves.
RSI reads 43, on the weak side of neutral. Buyers have not yet taken charge. Momentum also points down, as it does for LINK, though the seller-led trend here is still forming rather than fully set.
That leaves a longer climb. Resistance on the daily chart sits near $9.76, roughly 9% above the current price. Clearing it would mark a real breakout. The next ceiling sits near $11.12.
The downside levels are closer. A drop back under $8.26 would signal the bounce had failed. Below that, support thins out until near $7.04.
Two Paths for the Next Three Days
LINK will likely set the tone for both coins from here.
- Bullish: LINK posts a daily close above its 50-day average and pushes toward first resistance. AVAX follows with a close above its 200-day line, which would put its breakout level in play. The scenario fails if LINK slips back under its own 200-day average.
- Bearish: LINK breaks its first support, and AVAX loses its nearest floor at the same time. That opens the next support levels down for both tokens. A LINK reclaim of the 50-day line would cancel this view.
Headlines Need a Price Confirmation
LINK sits closer to turning its institutional headlines into a breakout. One daily finish over that average would give the DTCC story a price to match. AVAX still has to show its bounce can survive two overhead averages.
LINK still carries one risk. Without a fee structure tying adoption to the token, news rallies can fade, as they did after the earlier DTCC updates.
