Zcash Whale Opens $10.16 Million Leveraged Position on Hyperliquid
Blockchain records show that the investor opened approximately $10.16 million in ZEC positions using 2x leverage on Hyperliquid. These positions involve 8,000 ZEC across two wallets, although analysts have independently verified only part of the reported holdings.
Specifically, tracking data confirms a position involving 3,000 ZEC, with an average entry price of $1,353.83 per token. Meanwhile, the investor’s initial spot purchases carried an average acquisition price of approximately $1,250.
The leveraged investment experienced substantial losses when Zcash declined toward the $1,220 to $1,280 range during late October. At its lowest valuation, the position recorded unrealized losses exceeding $1.8 million before recovering to approximately $249,388. Additionally, the reported liquidation threshold stands at $647.67, considerably below the investor’s average entry price.
Zcash NU7 Upgrade Targets Threefold Increase in Block Processing Speed
Zcash developers have scheduled Network Upgrade 7 for November 5, following successful testnet preparations completed during October. The upgrade introduces ZIP-218, reducing block production intervals from 75 seconds to 25 seconds without changing the existing issuance schedule.
Furthermore, developers plan to introduce the Network Sustainability Mechanism, establishing a reserve fee fund supporting miners. The upgrade also retires the outdated Sprout pool as Zcash advances its shielded transaction infrastructure.
Meanwhile, ZEC has formed progressively higher price lows throughout 2026, creating an ascending triangle pattern with resistance near $1,396. Traders remain divided over potential market reactions, with some anticipating stronger demand and others expecting selling pressure following activation.
The investor’s substantial exposure underscores significant market positioning surrounding Zcash’s scheduled technical changes, while price volatility remains an important consideration.
