For most traders, Kalshi. Its fees are lower at every price, it takes limit orders, and its sports contracts reach far more states. It also pays interest on idle cash. Pick FanDuel Predicts if you already use FanDuel in one of its 18 sports states and want simple market orders.

FanDuel Predicts vs Kalshi at a glance

Both answer to the CFTC, at different layers. Kalshi runs the exchange. FanDuel Predicts is a broker, majority-owned by CME Group, that sends your orders to two.

FanDuel's fee cell is exact, not a ceiling. Its fee is a flat 2¢ a contract at every price, and cashing out early costs 2¢ again.

The real difference between FanDuel and Kalshi

Start with the name. “FanDuel” is two products, and many searches mix them up.

FanDuel Sportsbook is a state-licensed sportsbook. It sets the odds and takes your bet itself.

FanDuel Predicts is a separate app with a separate balance. Its broker, FanDuel Prediction Markets, is registered with the CFTC. CME Group owns 51% of the venture behind it.

Predicts sends orders to two exchanges. CME lists the financial contracts. OG, Crypto.com's exchange, has listed sports, entertainment and combos since June 2026.

That split just got sharper. CME stopped listing new sports and awards contracts on September 11, 2026. New sports markets now come from OG.

Kalshi is neither a sportsbook nor a broker. It runs its own exchange and clearinghouse, and your order meets another trader on its book.

FanDuel never offers both products for sports in one state. Predicts sells sports contracts only in 18 states where FanDuel runs no online sportsbook. This page compares the prediction markets.

FanDuel Predicts and Kalshi prices

FanDuel Predicts publishes no machine-readable prices, so no market can be priced on both here.

FanDuel does not route to Kalshi. Its sports contracts trade on OG's book, so the same game can carry a different price.

We cannot show both quotes, because FanDuel publishes no price feed. Its prices stay inside the app, shown as multipliers such as 1.25x unless you switch to cents.

Switch to cents before you compare, then add each fee to the price. Near 50¢, that is 2¢ on FanDuel and 1.75¢ on Kalshi. Kalshi's side of every market is in our live prediction market odds.

FanDuel Predicts vs Kalshi fees on the same $100 trade

Taker fee on a $100 position, from each venue's published schedule
PriceFanDuel PredictsKalshi
10¢$20.00$6.30
25¢$8.00$5.25
50¢$4.00$3.50
75¢$2.67$1.75
90¢$2.22$0.70

Kalshi is cheaper for takers at every price in FanDuel's schedule. Long shots show it most.

At 50¢, $100 buys 200 contracts. FanDuel charges 2¢ each, so $4.00. Kalshi's taker fee is $3.50.

At 10¢, $100 buys 1,000 contracts. FanDuel charges 2¢ each, so $20.00. Kalshi charges $6.30. At 5¢ the gap is $40.00 against $6.65.

At 90¢, FanDuel still charges 2¢, so about $2.22 on $100. Kalshi charges $0.70.

Selling early costs extra on both. FanDuel's Cash Out charges the same 2¢ a contract again, even if you sell for less. Kalshi charges its usual trading fee on the sale.

Patient traders have no option on FanDuel: it takes market orders only. Kalshi's resting limit orders are free on most series. Every rate is on our Kalshi fees and FanDuel Predicts fees pages.

FanDuel Predicts or Kalshi: which is safer?

Both keep customer cash apart from company money, under CFTC rules. The details differ.

On Kalshi, your cash sits at its clearinghouse, Kalshi Klear, which may not mix it with its own. Kalshi also pays 3.25% APY on balances of $250 or more.

On FanDuel, the broker holds customer money in pooled accounts. Its disclosures say it may invest that money in assets such as Treasuries and keep the interest.

Neither is insured. FanDuel says its broker is not FDIC insured or SIPC protected, and Kalshi balances have no such cover either.

FanDuel asks for more up front. You give your SSN, bank details and a government ID, then answer questions on income and net worth. Kalshi may ask for your SSN later, but you can trade without it.

On legal record, FanDuel Predicts is cleaner so far. Kalshi faces class actions over its sports contracts and its Khamenei market. The details are in our Kalshi review and FanDuel Predicts review.

Kalshi lists all six categories we track: sports, politics, economics, crypto, culture and climate. It counts far more individual markets, because it splits one question into many strikes and dates.

FanDuel's own pages describe four: sports, economics, crypto and culture. Its financial contracts track the S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, oil, gas, gold, CPI and GDP. They do not mention politics or climate.

FanDuel publishes no market feed, so its column above stays blank. Compare daily totals on our prediction market volume page.

Deposits, withdrawals and payouts on FanDuel Predicts and Kalshi

Kalshi takes ten ways in. They include bank and real-time transfers, debit cards, Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo, wire and crypto. FanDuel takes debit card, Apple Pay and online banking.

FanDuel's deposits are free on its side. Kalshi's bank, wire and real-time transfers are free, but debit cards can cost 2%.

Predicts money is walled off from the rest of FanDuel. Sportsbook or casino balances cannot fund trades, and Predicts winnings cannot move back.

Winning contracts pay $1 on both. Most Kalshi markets settle within hours, and card withdrawals are normally instant. FanDuel payouts become withdrawable 1 to 2 business days after settlement.

FanDuel then reviews each withdrawal, for up to 24 hours, or 48 for your first. After approval, card and Apple Pay withdrawals arrive within 24 hours. Online banking takes up to five business days.

Settlement and disputes

Both settle from the source named in each market's rules. Read those rules before you trade, on either app.

Kalshi's Khamenei market shows why. It paid the last price before his death, not $1, under a rule excluding death. A class action says that rule was buried in fine print.

FanDuel has its own fine print. Markets can settle early once the result is known, and results can be corrected afterwards.

A correction can push your FanDuel balance below zero. You then cannot buy positions until you deposit enough to cover it.

FanDuel Predicts and Kalshi apps and support

FanDuel Predicts: App Store 4.8 (6.6K) · Google Play 4.6 (1.69K). Kalshi: App Store 4.8 (548K) · Google Play 4.7 (120K). Ratings read September 25, 2026.

Kalshi runs on iOS, Android and the web. It adds a desktop terminal, Kalshi Pro, and a free API.

FanDuel Predicts is a separate iOS and Android app, on your existing FanDuel login. Prices display as multipliers by default, like a sportsbook.

Neither lists a phone line. Kalshi offers chat and email. FanDuel offers live chat, an email form, and messages on X and Facebook.

Can you use FanDuel Predicts and Kalshi together?

Yes. FanDuel's financial contracts are open in every state, and nothing stops you holding an account on each.

Arbitrage is harder than it looks. One app's Yes plus the other's No must cost under $1, after both fees.

At 50¢, those fees add 3.75¢ a contract pair: 2¢ on FanDuel and 1.75¢ on Kalshi. FanDuel's market-only orders also mean you cannot wait for your price.

Then check the rules. Two markets can look identical and settle on different sources. A “risk-free” pair can pay out on neither side.
