It baffles me how many people still keep most of their crypto on CEXs.

I'm pretty shocked to read all the stories from people who lost their life savings or large amounts in the FTX demise.

After everything this industry has been through over the last couple years, people still haven't learned the importance of self-custody. Why is that? Did Celsius not do it for you? Did Voyager not do it for you? If not those two, then I hope this FTX insanity should do it for you.

Maybe it's the fear of responsibility that keeps people from self-custody, maybe it's the uncertainty of how to use it, or the self-doubt, but after this massive financial collapse, people who were once afraid will at least try. It really isn't that complicated, you just have to be disciplined and focused. CEXs should be used for two things, buying and selling, not for storing.

Anyway, this is just an ode to being accountable for your own crypto. Has anyone out there shifted their practices since this all went down?

   submitted by /u/ipetgoat1984
[link] [comments]
