What Is Floki Inu

FLOKI is a dog-themed meme coin launched in June 2021. Floki Inu (FLOKI) was developed by the Shiba Inu community members inspired by Tesla founder Elon Musk's tweet saying his Shiba Inu puppy would be named Floki, after a Viking character. The Floki Inu community calls itself the "Floki Vikings" in honor of Floki.

FLOKI is a metaverse token and the utility coin of the Floki ecosystem. According to the project's official website, FLOKI combines the power of memes with real utility and charitability. Valhalla is the Floki Inu ecosystem's flagship product. It's an NFT gaming metaverse based on a play-to-earn mechanism, where players earn rewards for participating in battles, trading, or holding onto the assets obtained in its metaverse.

The game incorporates successful elements from games like Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Farmville, and Skyrim. It offers various features such as a gardening system for players to grow their crops, battling and capturing creatures called Vera,  which later can be sold as NFTs.

Valhalla is powered by blockchain, so all battles are recorded on the blockchain to ensure that all the stats and battles remain fair.

The Floki team announced that the launch of the game's playable Alpha Battle Arena Testnet went live in May 2022.

How Does FLOKI Work

Launched in June 2021, Floki Inu aims to become a fully Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). The meme coin's website mentions that it is actively run and managed by community members.

The team behind Floki Inu comprises a group of pseudonymous crypto influencers who go by the names of B, PetaByte, Capital, Sabre, and MrBrown Whale.

Jackie Xu is the project's lead developer, and according to his Twitter bio, he is "a computer scientist that enjoys innovating in the blockchain industry." Xu is also focused on researching tangential to game development. According to the Floki Inu whitepaper, Jackie XU has worked on blockchain since 2012 and has actively been engaged in smart contract development since 2017. Previously he worked as a software engineer and technical lead on various social networks and anti-fraud transaction processing systems.

FLOKI Tokenomics

The FLOKI coin was launched on the Ethereum blockchain with a total supply of 10 trillion. Later, the cryptocurrency was also launched on the Binance Smart Chain with a supply of 10 trillion.

Users can seamlessly move their tokens between the two blockchains without paying fees. The FLOKI ETH-BSC atomic swap bridge facilitates a 1:1 swap that allows FLOKI holders to move their tokens seamlessly between the BSC and ETH blockchain. Due to the 1:1 swap, the supply and price of FLOKI between ecosystems are connected.
